Community Shocked by Mazzaglia's Arrest
WMUR reports that Seth Mazzaglia, 29, of Dover was an actor, karate instructor, EMT and recently passed the Portsmouth Police's Citizens Police Academy.

As news spread that Seth Mazzaglia of Dover was charged with the second degree murder of University of New Hampshire student Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott, those who know him are in a state of disbelief.
WMUR reported Monday that he acted at the Seacoast Repertory Theater in Portsmouth, became an EMT, was a karate instructor at the Kittery Recreation Center and recently graduated from the Portsmouth Police Citizens Police Academy. The television news station also reported that Mazzaglia recently worked at Best Buy in Newington.
Mazzaglia was charged with Marriott's murder last weekend after authorities say he strangled or suffocated the 19-year-old UNH student on Oct. 9 at his residence located at 1 Mill St., Apt. 341 in Dover. New Hampshire Associate Attorney General Jane Young said Monday that Portsmouth Police continue to search around Peirce Island for Marriott's body. Mazzaglia was ordered held without bail at the Strafford County Jail in Dover and will return to Dover District Court for a probable cause hearing on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
