A large crane caught fire inside the New Hampshire Port Authority Tuesday afternoon.
Portsmouth firefighters responded to the scene which was visible from the Isles of Shoals dock on Market Street.
The crane was located between two large piles of scrap metal that is exported from the state pier.
City firefighters were able to bring the fire under control shortly after it was reported just before 1:30 p.m.
It was unclear if there were any injuries or what may have caused the fire.
