PORTSMOUTH, NH — A Dominican national has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge in Portsmouth, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Maikol Yordan Saldivar-Diaz, 28, was arrested on a distribution of controlled substances-methamphetamine and fentanyl charge on Wednesday after a multi-month investigation by police. The case came to fruition after the Portsmouth Housing Authority told investigators about possible drug dealing at the Gosling Meadows Housing Development. Police confirmed it was “consistent” with drug activity.

Saldivar-Diaz, U.S. Attorney Jane Young said, was identified as “the source of this drug activity.” On three occasions, in June and July, “Saldivar-Diaz sold controlled substances to a confidential information,” she added. Two of the sales were fentanyl, while the third was meth, according to Young.
