Road Reopens After Serious Injury In Portsmouth Crash
A woman riding a scooter was seriously injured, and another driver was hurt, after a crash on Sagamore Avenue in Portsmouth. Road is reopen.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A woman riding a scooter suffered a serious head injury after colliding with a vehicle on Sagamore Avenue in Portsmouth Saturday afternoon. The driver of a vehicle accident was also injured in the collision. Sagamore Avenue was closed to traffic for three hours before the road was reopened, police say.
The accident occurred at 2:08 p.m. near Little Harbor Road. Police say that a woman was riding a Honda Ruckus Scooter north on Sagamore Avenue (Route 1B) when the scooter crossed the center line and sideswiped an oncoming vehicle. The woman was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury in addition to other trauma that is not believed to be life-threatening, according to police. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured. Both were transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Sagamore Road was closed to traffic for about three hours after the crash. The road reopened by 5 p.m., police say. Portsmouth police are not releasing the names of the drivers involved, pending notification to the next of kin.
