Ex City Schools IT Worker Facing Sex Solicitation Charges Free on Bail
Kenneth Kimber's arraignment for charges that he used a city school department computer to solicit sex from a teenage girl pushed back to March 4.

A former Portsmouth School Department IT worker is now free on bail and will be arraigned on charges that he allegedly tried to solicit sex from a teenage girl next month.
Kenneth P. Kimber, 34, of of 93 Osprey Drive in Portsmouth, was scheduled to be arraigned on three felony counts of certain uses of a computer prohibited, five felony counts of indecent exposure on Tuesday morning in Portsmouth Circuit Court.
According to court officials, Kimber made his $5,000 cash bail over the weekend and as a result his arraignment date was subsequently rescheduled to March 4 at 8:30 a.m.

Portsmouth Police arrested Kimber on Feb. 13 after an investigation determined that he was using a Portsmouth School Department computer to try and solicit sex from a teenage girl between Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. The Portsmouth School Department fired Kimber on the same day that he was arrested and school officials assured the community all Portsmouth School students were safe.
"The circumstances in this case constituted a serious breach conduct that will not be tolerated by the School Department," read a press release issued by the Portsmouth School Department on Friday afternoon.

Kimber's case has also drawn high interest in Maine. According to Foster's Daily Democrat, Kimber was fired on Monday from his position as the Noble High School boys basketball coach in North Berwick, Maine
