Ex-School IT Worker Due Back in Court

A former Portsmouth Schools IT worker charged with trying to solicit sex from a teenage girl is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth Circuit Court on Monday morning.

Kenneth P. Kimber, 34, of of 93 Osprey Drive in Portsmouth, is facing three felony counts of certain uses of a computer prohibited, and five felony counts of indecent exposure. since mid-February.

Portsmouth Police arrested Kimber on Feb. 13 after an investigation determined that he was using a Portsmouth School Department computer to try and solicit sex from a teenage girl between Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. The Portsmouth School Department fired Kimber on the same day that he was arrested and school officials assured the community all Portsmouth School students were safe.

Kimber's case has also drawn high interest in Maine. According to Foster's Daily Democrat, Kimber was fired from his position as the Noble High School boys basketball coach in North Berwick, Maine shortly after his arrest in Portsmouth.
