FedEx Van Driver Crashes Through Middle Street Home's Fence
Portsmouth Police are trying to determine if the driver suffered a medical issue or if the van had a mechanical problem before the van veered left and crossed the road.
A Federal Express van driver struck a pick-up truck and crashed through a wooden fence in front of a Middle Street home on Monday morning.
Portsmouth Police are trying to determine if the female van driver experienced a medical issue or if the van had a mechanical problem that forced her to veer left and cross over the northbound lane of Middle Street before the van crashed through the fence of a home on 699 Middle St.
Portsmouth Police Officer Andre Wassouf said the van driver also struck a green pick-up truck that was headed northbound when she had veered left and traveled across the roadway. The pick-up truck sustained minor damage. The female van driver was transported by Portsmouth Fire Rescue ambulance to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

The male driver of the green pick-up truck was not hurt in the accident, but visibly shaken up by the close call. Portsmouth Police Officer Christina Meyer said the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by National Wrecker Service.
