1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day, with a high near 40. West wind 5 to 7 mph. On Tuesday night, there will be a chance of rain and snow showers, mainly after 5 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.

2. South Span float in: The South Span for the new Memorial Bridge will be floated in on Tuesday at 9 a.m., according to Archer Western Contractors officials.

3. School budget hearing: The Portsmouth School Board will hold the first public hearing for the proposed fiscal year 2014 budget at City Hall on Tuesday night at 7.

4. Get a flu shot: The Portsmouth area and New Hampshire are seeing widespread flu cases and health officials are encouraging people to get the flu vaccine shot at area pharmacies or at their health care provider's offices if they have not gotten a flu shot already.

5. Nominate Portsmouth Poet Laureate: Nominations are being accepted for Portsmouth Poet Laureate from now until Feb. 15.
