City now accepting EasyPark registrations; family of Corie Jabre needs your help; showers, then sun in the forecast.

1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service is calling for showers to give way to sunshine during the day with a high temperature of 38 degrees. On Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy and very cold with a low temperature of 10 degrees and a windchill of -5 degrees.

2. City now accepting EasyPark registrations: City officials are now accepting registrations for the new EasyPark system that allows Portsmouth drivers to pay for downtown parking with a device that allows them to only pay for whatever time they actually park in a given space. People can register online at www.easyparkusa.com/portsmouth.

3. Deceased young mother's family needs your help: The family of Corie Jabre, the 30-year-old Portsmouth mother of four who passed away on Sunday, is still looking for donations to help pay for her funeral as well as breast milk donations for her twin infant sons. Visit the Give Forward website of the Corie Jabre Memorial Fund if you would like to help.

4. Get a flu shot: The Portsmouth area and New Hampshire are seeing widespread flu cases and health officials are encouraging people to get the flu vaccine shot at area pharmacies or at their health care provider's offices if they have not gotten a flu shot already.

5. Nominate Portsmouth Poet Laureate: Nominations are being accepted for Portsmouth Poet Laureate from now until Feb. 15.
