Five Things You Need to Know Today, March 7

Daylight saving time this weekend; PPAF summer 2013 show announcement; another snowstorm on the way.

1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service is calling for occasional snow with a high temperature near 36 degrees. On Thursday night, there will be some more snow and sleet with a low temperature of 29 degrees.

2. Daylight Saving Time this weekend: Believe it or not, it is almost time to spring ahead with Daylight Saving Time beginning on Sunday, March 10. Before you go to bed on Saturday, March 9, remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour.

3. PHS Clippers in NHIAA: The Portsmouth High Clippers Boys and Girls basketball teams both hope to capture 2013 NHIAA Division II crowns in this year's tournament.

4. PHS solar project: The Portsmouth High School Environmental Change Organization is still looking for donations for their Sell-A-Cell project by launching a donation site using the popular crowd-funding resource Indiegogo. The solar panels are scheduled to be installed in April.

5. PPAF to announce summer show: Prescott Park Arts Festival officials were expected to announce their summer 2013 production on Wednesday night at the 100 Club. Be sure to check back with Portsmouth Patch later this morning for details.
