Vice Presidential debate tonight; New Hampshire Film Festival begins today; sunny, pleasant day in the forecast.
1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day, with a high near 59. West wind 8 to 16 mph. Tonight, there will be increasing clouds, with a low around 45. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.
2. Vice Presidential debate tonight: Vice President Joe Biden and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will debate on Thursday at 9 p.m. Be sure to follow the debate with Patch's live blog and add your thoughts with the Twitter hashtag #nhdebatewatch.
3. NH Film Festival begins: The 12th annual New Hampshire Film Festival is scheduled to begin Thursday morning and go through the entire weekend. 4. "Illuminate New Memorial Bridge": A group of Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine residents hope to raise $80,000 by Oct. 30 to provide the New Hampshire Department of Transportation with the funds needed to illuminate the new Memorial Bridge at night with energy efficient LED lights.
