Flu clinic for Portsmouth schoolchildren today; trick or treat times announced; another sunny, pleasant day in the forecast.

1. Today's weather: The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny day, with a high near 60. West wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon. On Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

3. City announces trick or treat times: Portsmouth officials announced that trick or treating for Halloween will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

4. Flu clinic at high school: The Portsmouth School Department will hold a free flu vaccine clinic for all Portsmouth schoolchildren on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth High School Library. The clinic will be staffed by School District nurses and the City’s Health Department. A parent or guardian must accompany elementary and middle school children, but high school students may attend with a student ID and a signed parental consent form obtained from the PHS nurse’s office. Parents with questions should contact their child’s school nurse.
