Former NH Educator, Sex Offender Indicted On Child Care Service Charge
Kristie Torbick faces a felony count after being accused of volunteering at Madbury's Demerritt Park during youth baseball games in June.

CONCORD, NH — A former New Hampshire educator and sex offender, after being convicted on child sexual assault charges, is in trouble with the law again.
Kristie Torbick, 44, of James Farm Road in Lee has been indicted on a single felony count of prohibition from child care service of persons convicted of certain offenses. She was charged after detectives with the New Hampshire State Police Sex Offender Registry investigated a claim she had been volunteering to work at child athletic events in Madbury, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for state police, said. Investigators accused Torbick of signing up to volunteer at the Snack Shack at Demerritt Park in Madbury during children’s baseball games and manning the stand between June 1 and June 30.
Torbick was a guidance counselor in both Bedford and Exeter before she was accused of sexually assaulting an Exeter High School student in December 2016 and January 2017 in Epping, Exeter, and Lee, in public parking lots and at her home. She was convicted in 2018 on four counts and sentenced to two and a half to five years in prison. During her sentencing, several educators spoke on her behalf, which led to resignations at several school districts.
