Get 'In the Mood' with Big Band Music

Gladys Knight will be at Music Hall Sunday; Press Room has Latin dance music Saturday night.

1. Get "In the Mood": Artbeat, Inc., presents "In the Mood: A Musical Revue" of Big Band music at the Music Hall on Friday at 3 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices at $49.75 and $37.75.

2. "Wait Until Dark": The Players Ring is now performing "Wait Until Dark," Frederick Knott’s thriller about a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. See the Players Ring web site for show times and ticket prices.

3. See Gladys Knight: The Music Hall will present Gladys Knight in concert on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Don't miss your chance to see this legendary "Empress of Soul."

4. Scarecrows of the Port: They're back... Scarecrows of the Port can be viewed in the city for the rest of October. Portsmouth businesses create scarecrows to celebrate fall and display them all over the city.

5. Check out Combo Sabroso: If you are looking for some Latin Dance music, Combo Sabroso is playing at the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is an $8 cover charge.
