Gilmanton Man Charged with Criminal Threatening

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Thursday, Jan. 31.

Wednesday:

  • At 9:26 a.m., police reported a theft of an undisclosed item valued at $4,000 on Banfield Road.
  • At 12:01 p.m., police arrested a Gilmanton man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Maplewood Avenue and Edmond Avenue. James E. Plante, 45, of 19 Beechwood Drive in Gilmanton was wanted for criminal threatening.
  • At 12:03 p.m., police reported shoplifting at a Congress Street business.
  • At 6:40 p.m., police reported a theft of medication from a Woodbury Avenue residence.
  • At 7:50 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she turned herself in at the police station. Monica Ann Newton, 55, of address unknown, was wanted for criminal trespass.

  • At 8:45 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Cabot and Austin streets after the caller said his vehicle had two slashed tires.
  • At 1:04 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man for motor vehicle offenses on State and Marcy streets. Timothy Barker, 20, of 5 Plain Ave. in Portsmouth was charged with driving after revocation or suspension.
  • At 1:16 p.m., police reported a theft of steel sharper blades on Islington Street the caller said were valued at thousands of dollars.
