Major Development Project to Get Closer Look
The fire clean up at the Portsmouth Police Station continues following Tuesday's 2-alarm blaze.

1. CITY PANEL TO REVIEW PROJECTS: The Planning Board and Historic District Commission will hold a joint work session at City Hall on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to look at the proposed development at 111 Maplewood Avenue. The agenda can be viewed on the city's web site.
2. POLICE STATION CLEAN UP CONTINUES: The fire clean up at the Portsmouth Police Station continues following a two-alarm fire on Tuesday night that heavily damage the police department's shooting range room.
3. TALLS SHIPS TO RETURN. The U.S. Coast Guard vessel Eagle will return to the city this weekend for the Piscataqua Maritime Festival's annual Sail Portsmouth event. According to Sail Portsmouth, the Eagle will sail into Portsmouth Harbor on Friday morning as part of the Tall Ships parade and be docked at the New Hampshire State Pier where it will be open for public tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
4. SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED. The City of Portsmouth Welfare Department is once again asking Portsmouth area residents to donate back to school supplies to help children in need. Some of the items they need include backpacks, notebooks, lunch boxes, pens, pencil and calculators.
5. WANTED: FALL SPORTS BLOGGERS. Portsmouth Patch is currently looking for people in the city to share news, photos and videos from the upcoming Portsmouth High Clippers fall sports season.
