Man Pleads Guilty to Deadly Beating at The Page
Zachary O'Neill will spend 10-1/2 to 22 years in state prison.

Zachary O'Neill pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter for causing the death of Joshua Krantz at the Page Restaurant and Bar last year, according to Portsmouth Deputy Police Chief Corey MacDonald.
MacDonald posted messages on Twitter and Facebook saying that O'Neill will spend the next 10-1/2 to 22 years in state prison.
"We wish to commend our detectives and officers who worked this very difficult case and the County Attorney's office for their strong prosecution," MacDonald said. "We pray this brings the Krantz family some justice."
O'Neill, 24, of Dover, was originally charged with first-degree assault, and later indicted on a manslaughter charge after police said he beat up Krantz at the now-closed Page in April of 2013. Krantz, 24, of Dover, later died of injuries sustained in the attack. The state Medical Examiner said he died of a fractured skull.
Police said the incident happened after someone spilled a drink.
The owners of The Page were also charged in connection with the case and later decided to close the bar for good. They were fined $5,000 last month after pleading guilty to serving alcohol on the dance floor.
