Bohanan Promoted to Music Hall Technology Director

The Music Hall, New Hampshire’s premier performing arts center, announced today that it has promoted Monte Bohanan to Director of Technology. In this new position, Bohanan will be responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance, and application support of The Music Hall’s Information Technology programs and will continue to manage all social media campaigns. Additionally, Bohanan will provide vision and leadership for the development of IT programs that enable The Music Hall to continue to provide cutting edge arts and cultural experiences for its patrons.

In his new role, Bohanan will also manage and organize the ever-popular, Digital Portsmouth, a quarterly event showcasing the creative digital culture that is thriving on the Seacoast and connecting others in the field. As part of The Music Hall’s Innovation and Leadership Forum, Digital Portsmouth will open with a classy cocktail hour followed by presentations and a question and answer session.

According to Patricia Lynch, executive director of The Music Hall, “It’s really gratifying to recognize Monte Bohanan with this promotion to Director of Technology. Since joining The Music Hall staff in 2000, he has evolved as he has moved from Box Office to Front of House to Marketing and IT – he’s an important face for our institution. He’s an innovator in all he does – most recently conceiving our newest offering, Digital Portsmouth, which brings together digital creatives on the Seacoast. We are proud to have this young leader with us on our technology path.”

Recently, Digital Portsmouth accepted its first series sponsor; PixelMEDIA has signed on with a $5,000 sponsorship to support costs associated with hosting the quarterly community-building outing. The next Digital Portsmouth gathering is set to take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012 and will be held at The Music Hall Loft; this quarter’s theme is “The Art of Mobile and Web Apps.”

Prior to his promotion, Bohanan served as the Electronic and New Technology Manager. Bohanan has been with The Music Hall for twelve years and resides in Portsmouth with his wife and two children.
