New Dog Treats Store Coming to City?

Portsmouth area dog and cat owners are always looking for healthy snack and food alternatives for their pets that they cannot always find in area supermarkets and soon they will have a new place to shop.

According to a sign posted on the front of an empty retail space located in Gallagher's Place on Islington Street, The Natural Dog and Wholistic Cat will be opening soon.

Owners Dawn and Jeff Price received a building permit from the city's Building Inspector earlier this month. According to the city documents posted on the store, the couple will spend $8,800 to renovate the 2,500 square foot space and transform into a store where dog and cat owners can go to give their pets organic food alternatives.

The couple has not set up a website or a Facebook page yet for the new business, but with so many other businesses located at Gallagher's Place that include Street, Port City Coffee Roaster's and Bob's Chicken they should see plenty of foot traffic.
