New Parking Garage Meeting Saturday

City Councilor Ken Smith wants to hear from city residents Saturday on where they would like to see a new parking garage located someday.

City Councilor Ken Smith understands that many Portsmouth residents may not be comfortable speaking at the podium at City Hall when it comes to issues like where the city should build a new parking garage.

As a result, Smith, who chairs the city Parking and Traffic Safety Committee, will hold a listening session at the Works Bakery Cafe this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. His goal is to allow city residents to share their ideas about where the city should build a new parking garage now that the Worth Lot is off the table.

after several residents and business owners came out against it. Two potential sites that are still on the table are Deer Street and the Thomas J. McIntyre federal building on Daniel Street.
