Newmarket Man Charged with 2nd Degree Assault
Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7.
Friday:
- At 12:03 a.m., police reported a fireworks complaint on Summer Street after the caller said a group of skateboarders were setting fireworks off.
- At 9:25 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Miller Avenue after the caller said someone spray painted their house. The mother said she believes a female teen from her daughter's school may have done it as way to bully her daughter.
- At 2:18 p.m., police arrested a Newmarket man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Islington Street. John A. Pearl, Jr., 26, of 11 Stanorm Road in Newmarket was wanted for simple assault and second-degree assault.
- At 4:11 p.m., police reported shoplifting on Lafayette Road after the caller said a female suspect placed a number of items on the counter and asked the store clerk not to call 911 before she fled the scene in a car.

- At 9:12 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Pleasant Street after the caller said someone keyed his car.
- At 10:57 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Porpoise Way. Rodney Bachelder, 45, of 106 Porpoise Way in Portsmouth was wanted for simple assault.
- At 1:11 p.m., police arrested a Dover man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he was detained at the Dover Toll Plaza on Route 16. Edwin Flores, 24, of 31 Samuel Hanson Ave. in Dover was wanted for sale of controlled narcotic drugs.
- At 11:38 p.m., police reported a gun theft on Marne Avenue.
- At 11:42 p.m., police reported a large fight on Hanover Street.
Sunday:
- At 12:55 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a car versus a pole accident on Market and Bow streets. Derek A. DiMartino, 31, of 462 Middle St., Apt. 4, in Portsmouth was charged with conduct after an accident.
