In less than 48 hours, the new <a href="http://www.memorialbridgeproject.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Memorial Bridge</a> will be open to traffic. But New Hampshire Department of Transportation officials cannot say exactly when. Jennifer Zorn, a project spokesperson, wrote in an e-mail Tuesday, "It is day-to day-at this point. Bridge operator training continues. We are confident it will be open no later than Thursday." New Hampshire DOT officials announced Monday afternoon the Memorial Bridge opening ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday and will be preceded by a procession from the Kittery, Maine side of the new $89.4 million span to the Portsmouth side at 10:40 a.m. Be sure to stay with Portsmouth Patch for the latest developments about the opening of the Memorial Bridge.
