3 Killed During Shootings In Troy, Portsmouth; NH, Maine State Police Investigating

NH AG: A man killed a woman in Troy, drove to the Piscataqua River Bridge, was shot by Maine troopers; a child was found dead in a vehicle.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating the suspicious deaths of three people in New Hampshire and on the border with Maine on Thursday morning.

While still under investigation, officials believe the incident started when a man shot a woman in Troy. The man then drove to the Piscataqua River Bridge on Interstate 95 at the border between Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine. There, Maine State Police engaged with the man, and he was shot and killed.

An 8-year-old child was found dead later inside the man’s vehicle due to a gunshot wound.

The Maine Attorney General’s Office is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

“The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain under active investigation,” Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, said.

During the investigation, the Piscataqua River Bridge was closed to traffic, and detours were being made to two other local bridges. The bridge reopened around 10 a.m.
