NH OK's $1M for Some Bridge Repairs
Hassan, Executive Council approve the funding to cover part of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge damage.

Gov. Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council approved a request Wednesday to accept and spend insurance funds–to the tune of $1,053,500–to cover a portion of the costs to repair the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge after a tanker struck it last month.
The authorization is predicated on receipt and reimbursement from insurance funds, according to state documents. The up-front cost of the repairs will be split 50/50 with the state of Maine.
The Harbour Feature, a vessel from Madeira, Portugal, broke from mooring lines and drifted into the bridge April 1. That week, New Hampshire Department of Transportation officials estimated it sustained an estimated $2.5 million in damage.
