NH State Police Cruiser Struck By Tractor-Trailer In Portsmouth
The trooper was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. The accident, in the northbound lane of I-95 near Exit 3, closed several lanes.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Police are investigating an accident involving a tractor-trailer truck and a New Hampshire State Police cruiser on Thursday.
Portsmouth fire, EMS, and state troopers responded at about 12:30 a.m. to a report of a cruiser being struck by truck. The first report from arriving units was the truck and cruiser were into the woodline on Interstate 95, on the northbound side, near Mile Marker 14, in the area of Exit 3.
Firefighters reported the trooper was unresponsive. Medical aid was rendered and the trooper was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

"The NH Department of Safety is reporting a crash involving an NH State Police trooper and a tractor-trailer unit on I-95 near exit 3 in Portsmouth," Paul Raymond, of the New Hampshire Department of Safety, said in a statement. "Lanes of I-95 will remain closed this morning as part of the investigation. An update will be provided later this morning."
Several members of the New Hampshire State Police and officers from more than a dozen towns lined the roadway leading to the ER at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
