North Span Floated In
Latest piece of the Memorial Bridge was successfully moved to the Kittery, Maine side of the Piscataqua River early Wednesday morming.

Just as they had planned, Archer Western Contractors crews successfully maneuvered the north span of the new Memorial Bridge to the Kittery, Maine side of the Piscataqua River overnight.
According to Archer Western Contractors officials, the float-in began at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, crews moved the north span on the Cape Cod barge to the other side of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge to get it ready for its final leg.
On Wednesday morning, Portsmouth area residents were able to see the north span in place as Archer Western Contractors crews continued their work to attach it to the Kittery, Maine approach.
