Ocean Churns Ahead of Blizzard's Arrival

As light snow falls, the coastline at New Castle's Great Island Common portends Nemo's wrath.

Just hours before winter storm Nemo touches down in the Portsmouth area, the ocean waters off Great Island Common in New Castle on Friday morning were churning with fury.

The latest National Weather Service forecast is still calling for the Portsmouth area to get up to 2 feet or more of snow beginning on Friday afternoon. A blizzard watch remains in effect from Friday at 2 p.m. until Saturday at 4 p.m. and high, gusty winds of up to 50 mph could cause widespread power outages.
