Pharmacist Has License Suspended

Attorney General Michael Delaney announces that the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy has reached an agreement with pharmacist Donald Agnew of York, Maine.

On October 8, the Board suspended Agnew's New Hampshire license on an emergency basis in response to allegations that, while working at the Shaw's Osco pharmacy in Sanford, Maine, Agnew had obtained controlled drugs for his own use by "shorting" customers' prescriptions.

The agreement, approved by the Board on October 17, continues the suspension of Agnew's New Hampshire license until the completion of the New Hampshire Board's investigation into Mr. Agnew's conduct and the final resolution of those allegations.

Although licensed in New Hampshire, Agnew was working only in Maine when the alleged misconduct occurred. Agnew has pending criminal charges against him in Maine, and the Maine Board of Pharmacy has suspended his Maine pharmacy license.
