Police: Buick Not Connected to Colorado Case
Portsmouth Police release the vehicle with Colorado plates to its owner after determining it is not linked to missing Colorado girl.

Portsmouth Police released the blue Buick station wagon with Colorado plates to its owners Thursday afternoon after determining it was not linked to the case of a missing Colorado girl.
Deputy Police Chief Corey MacDonald issued a press release stating that Portsmouth Police worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Maine and Colorado police before that determination was made.
"At this time we are confident that the vehicle and the child that was the source of the tip have nothing to do with the Colorado case. Portsmouth Police have located the owners and have searched the vehicle and it has been released," MacDonald wrote.

Portsmouth Police towed the Buick station wagon after they were notified by a passerby that the vehicle was parked in a lot located in the Portsmouth Industrial Park complex off Constitution Avenue around 8:30 a.m. The area is located behind the Wal-Mart Superstore on Lafayette Road.

MacDonald explained that police searched the area with a K-9 unit and cordoned off the immediate area where the car was parked. The vehicle was then towed to the Portsmouth Police garage for further investigation.
MacDonald said Portsmouth Police received a tip from the Dexter, Maine, Police Department on Sunday, Oct. 7, that a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that Portsmouth Police towed was spotted in that community and contained a young female passenger who resembled the missing Colorado girl.
