Police Charge Milton Man with Kidnapping, Sexual Assault
Portsmouth Police say John C. Riley used his position at a local agency to kidnap and sexually assault the victim.

Portsmouth Police arrested a Milton man on Thursday night and charged him with kidnapping and sexual assault.
John C. Riley, 41, of 1147 White Mountain Highway in Milton is charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and kidnapping, both Class A felonies, and indecent exposure, according to Portsmouth Police Capt. Mike Schwartz.
Police said that Riley gained access to the victim through his job with a local agency that serves adults with developmental disabilities. Riley is being held on $30,000 cash bail at the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood and he is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday morning at a court to be determined, according to Schwartz.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Detective Tim Cashman at (603) 610-7587. Members of the public can also contact Seacoast Crime Stoppers by leaving an anonymous tip at (603) 431-1199 or at seacoastcrimestoppers.org.
They can also text tips to CRIMES (274637) with the letters "TIPSCS" and leave a tip that way. If a tip leads to an arrest or indictment of the individual, the person who provided it could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
