Police: Child Stabs Mother with Chopstick

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, July 24 through Thursday, July 25.

Wednesday:

  • At 10:05 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Atkinson and State streets without injury.
  • At 10:33 a.m., police reported lewd-indecent exposure after a caller said a male subject was masturbating in front of people near the dog park on Peirce Island.
  • At 4:03 p.m., police reported a simple assault on Wedgewood Road after a mother said her six-year-old son stabbed her in the arm with a chopstick.
  • At 4:26 p.m., police reported a stolen purse on Lafayette Road.
  • At 5:11 p.m, police reported a two-car accident on Woodbury Avenue and Gosling Road.
  • At 5:46 p.m., police reported theft on Durgin Lane after the caller said three vending machines were vandalized and some items were taken.
  • At 6:40 p.m., police took a 15-year-old juvenile into protective custody and arrested a 14-year-old juvenile for possession of controlled narcotic drugs on South Street.
  • At 7:16 p.m., police reported a rape-forcible sexual assault on Pease Boulevard after the staff said a resident was sexually assaulted.
  • At 7:43 p.m., police reported a rape-forcible sexual assault on Holiday Drive after a mother reported that her ex-husband sexually assaulted her five-year-old child.
