City Police Explorers Win Awards

Portsmouth Police Explorers Post 2609 takes home several honors at Saturday's NH 2012 Exploring Division Recognition Dinner.

On Saturday the Portsmouth Police Cadet Post #2609 attended the New Hampshire 2012 Exploring Division Recognition Dinner.  I am pleased to announce they received the following awards:

Cadet Sergeant Jacob Wirth received the 'Outstanding Male Explorer of the Year Award'.  This award is given out to an Explorer for exceptional commitment to exploring and personal growth within the program.

Cadet Lieutenant Savannah Woodcock received the 'Silver E Award'.  This award is the highest recognition available for youth participants in the Exploring program. It is reserved for Explorers who have demonstrated exceptional character, commitment, and leadership in both their exploring activities and the community.

The Post received the 'Explorer Post Community Service Award'.  This award is given to a Post that has made an outstanding contribution to its community through public service.  The Portsmouth Police Cadets have put in well over 100 hours of community service over the last year.

Auxiliary Officer and Dispatcher Alana Dubaniewcz received the 'Exceptional Adult Leadership Award'. This award recognizes an adult volunteer who has demonstrated commitment to creating outstanding opportunities for Explorers and advancing Exploring in the Community.  Alana has been volunteering as an Assistant Advisor for the Post for more than 10 years now and has donated countless hours to the program over the years.

The Police Explorer Program is for young adults ages 14 to 20 years old who are interested in the career of Law Enforcement. Meetings are held weekly at the Police Department. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the post can contact Officer Brian Houde at (603) 610-7601.
