Police: Man Punched Bartender in the Jaw
Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Jan. 13 through Monday, Jan. 14.
Sunday:
- At 12:27 p.m., police reported two pieces of tagged graffiti on the I-95 overpass bridge on Market Street.

- At 5:12 a.m., police reported a gas drive-off totaling $67.31 from a Route 1 Bypass south bound business. The driver was notified that he owed the money, he returned and paid his bill.
- At 10:20 a.m., police reported shoplifting after the caller said a male subject took a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from an Islington Street business.
- At 5:14 p.m., police reported a theft of a license plate on Middle Road.
- At 8:50 p.m., police reported a theft of a cell phone at a Middle Street residence.
- At 9:29 p.m., police reported a simple assault at a Daniel Street restaurant and bar after a male subject reportedly punched a bartender in the jaw. Police searched the area in front of the establishment, but could not locate the person who matched the description. The bartender declined medical attention.
