Drivers in Road Rage Fight Decline to Press Charges
In this latest excerpt from the Portsmouth police log, a hospital worker was also the victim of an assault.

An excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Saturday, July 20 to Sunday, July 21:
Saturday:
- At 1:51 a.m., police reported a stolen laptop on Islington Street.
- At 10:15 a.m., police reported a road rage incident on Lafayette Road after the driver of one vehicle punched another driver in the face during a fight in a Lafayette Road parking lot. Police said the male suspect headed north on Route 1 and after police caught up to him, neither one of the drivers involved wanted to press any changes.
- At 12:20 p.m., police reported a theft of some mislaid property on Lafayette Road.
- At 12:51 p.m., police reported a bike theft on Lafayette Road.
- At 1:47 p.m., police reported the theft of a backpack that contained $500 in cash from a vehicle on Cabot Street. The backpack was recovered, but the cash was gone.
- At 2:28 p.m., police reported a simple assault on a Portsmouth Regional Hospital staff member in the hospital kitchen on Borthwick Avenue.
- At 3:40 p.m., police reported a shoplifter on Lafayette Road.
- At 10:24 p.m., police reported a fight on Winsor Road that involved several people.
- At 1:18 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Market Street after the caller said a white male subject punched a hole in the wall.
- At 2:55 a.m., police took four people into protective custody for alcoholism after they were being disruptive to other guests at a Lafayette Road establishment.
