Police Probe Strong Armed Robbery
Portsmouth Police say a man and a woman robbed a female shopper's purse at Market Basket on Tuesday afternoon.
Portsmouth Police are looking for a man and a woman who they say targeted a female shopper at Market Basket, grabbed her purse and stole her wallet on Tuesday afternoon.
Portsmouth Police Sgt. Jonathan Aubin said the strong armed robbery occurred around 2:45 p.m. Police officers learned that a female suspect grabbed a female shopper's purse inside the supermarket. He said the two women then struggled on the floor and after the contents of the female shopper's purse spilled out onto the floor, a male suspect grabbed her wallet. Aubin said the male and female robbery suspects then fled the store.
The white female suspect is described as someone in her late 20’s to early 30’s with long dark hair wearing a black and white winter jacket, blue jeans and carrying a large handbag, according to police.

The white male suspect is described as someone in his mid 20’s with a dark colored beard wearing a black Carhart style jacket with blue jeans and black sneakers, according to police.
Aubin said the surveillance video showed that the suspects may have been targeting other shoppers in the store before the robbery occurred.

Anyone who may have any information about this crime should call Officer Christopher Kiberd at (603) 610-7504. People can also contact Seacoast Crime Stoppers by leaving an anonymous tip at (603)431-1199 or at seacoastcrimestoppers.org.
They can also text their tip to CRIMES (274637) with the letters "TIPSCS" If an individual's tip leads to an arrest or indictment of the individual, they could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
