Portsmouth Man Arrested for Theft

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Oct. 28 through Thursday, Nov. 1.

Sunday:

  • At 11:37 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Gardner Street after the caller reported a smashed window.
  • At 6:14 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Middle Road after the caller said someone ripped out a door frame and a wall border.

  • At 8:13 a.m., police reported a theft on Lafayette Road.

Tuesday:

  • At 5:07 p.m., police reported identity theft on Court Street.
  • At 6:56 p.m., police arrested a North Carolina man for motor vehicle offenses on Market Square. Stuart Lamar Davis, 26, of 3008 Amberjack St. in Fayetteville, N.C., was charged with operating without a valid license.
  • At 7:28 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Gosling Road after the caller said his car was egged.

  • At 8:12 a.m., police reported an unattended death on Blue Heron Drive.
  • At 10:23 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Thornton Street after a group of juveniles threw some pumpkins and damaged a picket fence.
  • At 11:35 a.m., police reported the theft of political signs on Union Street.
  • At 12:33 p.m., police reported a theft from a motor vehicle on Echo Avenue.
  • At 1:11 p.m., police arrested a Dover man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Kevin J. Phillips, 27, of 615 Marthas Way in Dover was wanted for theft by deception and resisting arrest.
  • At 2 p.m., police reported shoplifting at a Woodbury Avenue business after the caller said the suspect fled the scene in a blue mini-van after trying to steal two carts full of merchandise.
  • At 4:06 p.m., police reported shoplifting at a Woodbury Avenue business after the caller said the suspect stole some merchandise.
  • At 5:05 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Middle Street after the caller said his car was egged.
  • At 5:50 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Islington Street. Guy Buckman, 38, of 105 Blue Heron Drive in Portsmouth was wanted for three counts of theft by unauthorized taking and an arrest warrant.
  • At 11:07 p.m., police took a Dover man into protective custody for alcoholism on Fleet Street.

Thursday:

  • At 12:56 a.m., police arrested a Dover man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice. Jay Quan Wilder, 21, of 41 Belknap St. in Dover was wanted on two bench warrants for operating with a suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension.
