Portsmouth Man Charged with Resisting Arrest
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Saturday, Nov. 23, and Sunday, Nov. 24.
Saturday:
- At 1:14 a.m., police reported a theft of a coat that had a item inside of it on Market Square.
- At 3:42 p.m., police reported a simple assault at a Lafayette Road store after the caller said the manager slammed a bathroom door on his wrist.
- At 4:09 p.m., police reported that a wallet was found on Bartlett Street and turned in to the police station.
- At 8:25 p.m., police reported a theft of some cash that was made with an ATM card.
- At 11:36 p.m., police reported a prowler on Cornwall Street.
- At 12:41 a.m., police reported a fight on Hanover Street.
- At 2:21 a.m., a Portsmouth man was arrested on Blue Heron Drive following a disorderly conduct complaint. Alexander E. Short, 27, of 3 Edgewood Road was charged with resisting arrest or detention.
