Portsmouth Police Ask Help ID'ing Walmart Theft Suspect

Portsmouth police said officers are trying to identify a woman who made five fraudulent transactions at Walmart.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Portsmouth police this week asked the public's help identifying a woman accused of multiple thefts at Walmart. Police said the woman recently made five fraudulent transactions at the store.

"She thought she could outsmart the video cameras capturing her pilfering activities," police said in a statement. "She scanned the UPC/bar code for her items for cheaper priced items at the self-checkout instead of scanning the actual codes ... that's called theft."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 603-610-7619. Anonymous tips can be made to Seacoast Crime Stoppers at 603-431-1199. Tipsters may be eligible for a $1,000 award.
