Portsmouth Police Department: Accident On Lafayette Road At Mirona Road

A man from Maine died during a crash on Feb. 8.

On 02/08/2025, at approximately 4:09 p.m., the Portsmouth Police Department, along with the Portsmouth Fire Department, responded to the intersection of Lafayette Road and Mirona Rd. for a two-vehicle collision. The initial on scene investigation determined both vehicles were in the northbound lanes on Lafayette Road when a Dodge 1500 pick-up truck struck the back of a Toyota Camry. The operator of the truck suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

After family notifications were made, the deceased male was identified as Judd Reed, 70, of Eliot, Maine.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

The Portsmouth Police Drone Team, along with the Portsmouth Crime Scene Team, responded to investigate and document the crash. At this time, the investigation is ongoing, but it does not appear that reckless driving or alcohol were a factor.
