Portsmouth Police Department Announces Promotion

Master Patrolman Christopher Kiberd has been promoted to Sergeant.

The Portsmouth Police Commission unanimously voted Thursday to promote Master Patrolman Christopher Kiberd to the rank of Sergeant, effective March 3. Kiberd will initially be assigned to the Patrol Division.

Kiberd joined the Portsmouth Police Department in 2002 after working for the Keene Police department since 1998, and before that as a summer police officer in York, ME. Since joining Portsmouth, he has served as an Explorer Advisor, Crime Scene Team member, board member of the Portsmouth Police Relief Association, Downtown Hospitality Liaison Officer, Field Training Officer for new recruits, and as a Motorcycle Officer.

Kiberd graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. He lives in Rochester with his wife and two children.
