Portsmouth Police Department: Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation

The operator of the vehicle was extricated by the Portsmouth Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

On June 26th, 2025, at 3:57 p.m., the Portsmouth Police Patrol Division responded to the area of 2021 Lafayette Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

Upon arrival, it was discovered a white work van heading southbound on Lafayette Road veered across northbound traffic, subsequently driving through a residential fence before colliding with multiple vehicles parked in a private driveway. The operator of the vehicle was extracted by the Portsmouth Fire Department and transported to an area hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries. The direct cause of the collision is under investigation.
