Portsmouth Police Looking for Robbery Suspect

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Feb. 3 through Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Sunday:

• At 10:12 a.m., police reported a wallet theft.
• At 12:32 p.m., police reported another wallet theft on Market Street.
• At 2:45 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Mendum Avenue after the caller said someone egged her car the night before.

Monday:

• At 9:41 a.m., police arrested an Epping woman on Sherburne Road who was under the influence of marijuana. Taylor Greene, 18, of 40 Jenness Road in Epping was charged with possession of controlled narcotic drugs.
• At 10:03 a.m., police reported credit card fraud on Islington Street after the caller said someone stole her credit card and charged $304.95.
• At 12:30 p.m., police arrested a Berwick, Maine man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Stephen N. Smith, 59, of 13 Pond Road in Berwick, Maine was wanted for endangering the welfare of a child/incompetent.
• At 3:57 p.m., police arrested a North Hampton woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Portia Echo Black, 22, of 12 Sand Piper Path in North Hampton was wanted for simple assault.
• At 5:57 p.m., police reported a theft of some cosmetics from a business on Woodbury Avenue.
• At 6:52 p.m., police reported a robbery on Woodbury Avenue after a female shoplifter fought with staff on her way out the building and left the area in a Toyota Camry sedan. Police ran the vehicle's license plate in Massachusetts and Maine and pursued the suspect to the middle of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge, but were unable to locate her.

Tuesday:

• At 2:34 a.m., police arrested a North Berwick, Maine man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Marcy Street and State Street. Cole M. Corbin, 21, of 333 Turkey St. in North Berwick, Maine was wanted on a bench warrant.
