Portsmouth Teen Charged with Simple Assault

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15.

Saturday:

  • At 12:23 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on State Street following a domestic dispute. Luis Torres, 28, of 21 Brewster St., Apt. 12 was charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.
  • At 1 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Market Street at the The Portsmouth Gas Light restaurant.
  • At 9:56 a.m., police reported a theft of a package on Winsor Road valued at about $20.
  • At 10:43 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident on Lafayette Road after the caller said some material fell off of a truck that was in front of him and struck his vehicle.
  • At 3:02 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman following a domestic incident on Wedgewood Road. Erica Bentley, 24, of 17 Wedgewood Road was charged with two counts of simple assault, two counts of criminal mischief (vandalism) and one count of criminal mischief.
  • At 4:12 p.m., police reported the theft of a purse at a store on Woodbury Avenue after the caller said she left her purse in the store and went to her car. When she went back to the store to get her purse, it was gone.
  • At 7:27 p.m., police reported a two-car accident without injury on Borthwick Avenue and Greenland Road.
Sunday:
  • At 5:02 p.m., police reported a single car accident where the vehicle was off the roadway at Lang Road and the Beechstone Apartments.
  • At 5:42 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth teen following a domestic disturbance on Sagamore Avenue. Kiana L. Orlen, 17, was charged with simple assault.
