UPDATED: City Woman Sought in Heroin Death Arrested
Portsmouth Police say Jennifer Landry was arrested by Portland, Maine, Police on Wednesday night.

UPDATED: 9:15 p.m.: A Portsmouth woman who may have information about the heroin overdose death of a 22-year-old woman in the city was arrested Wednesday night.
Portsmouth Police Det. David Keaveny said Jennifer Landry, 41, of Portsmouth was arrested by Portland, Maine, Police in that city. Keaveny said the investigation into the drug overdose death that took place on Nov. 20 will continue.
Earlier story: The Portsmouth Police are actively investigating an apparent overdose death which occurred on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Police believe a 22 year old Portsmouth female died from a heroin overdose. Detectives are looking for the source of the drug, and would like to speak with anyone with information regarding the circumstances of this death.

Under New Hampshire RSA 318-B:26 IX, Any person who manufactures, sells or dispenses methamphetamine, lysergic acid (LSD), PCP, or any other controlled drug classified in schedule I, II, or any controlled drug analog there of, in violation of RSA 318-B:2, is strictly liable for a death which results from the injection, inhalation or ingestion of that substance and may be sentenced to imprisonment for life or for such term as the court may order. "We are committed to finding the person or persons who provided heroin to the young woman who overdosed, and to ensuring that they are held responsible for selling her the drugs that we believe may have resulted in her death."

Detectives are also currently looking for a Jennifer Landry (08/16/1971), with a last known address of 309 Oriental Gardens Portsmouth, NH. Landry is wanted for possession of a controlled drug felony - heroin. Said possession is alleged to have occurred on Friday, November 23. Police also wish to speak with Ms. Landry regarding the investigation into Tuesday's overdose. Anyone with information as to the circumstances surrounding Tuesday's overdose, or with information on Ms. Landry or her whereabouts are asked to call Det. Rochelle Jones 610-7503, or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
"While Heroin is always potentially fatal, we hope that people who are addicted understand that there may be a batch of the drug on the street at this time which is even more lethal. Now would be a good time to seek help."
