PSO, 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' on Tap this Weekend

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.

1. Don't miss "Miss Representation": The film, "Miss Representation," is playing at the Music Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the film exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America.

2. "Wait Until Dark": The Players Ring is now performing "Wait Until Dark," Frederick Knott’s thriller about a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. See the Players Ring web site for show times and ticket prices.

3. How about some Jazz: Chronic Jazz Syndrome will play at the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.

4. PSO at Music Hall: The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra: Dvorak 8 and Soloist Andy Happel will be performed on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 and $18 for students and seniors.

5. See "Rocky Horrow Picture Show" at the Rep: This is also the final weekend to see the Seacoast Repertory Theatre's production of "The Rocky Horrow Picture Show." Shows are at Friday and Saturday at 12 midnight.
