Cell Tower Petition Before Zoning Board

New Cingular Wireless PCS seeks a zoning variance and special exception for a 130-foot tower on Martine Cottage Road.

The Portsmouth Board of Adjustment is scheduled to hold a public hearing Tuesday on a proposed zoning variance and special exception for a new cell tower at 70 Martine Cottage Road.

The petition is for New Cingular Wireless PCS to construct a 130-foot tower in the "rural" zoning district.

A balloon test to show the height of the proposed telecommunication facility was conducted Saturday. 

The Board of Adjustment meets at 7 p.m. in regular meeting in the school board conference room at Portsmouth City Hall, 1 Junkins Ave.

A work session to discuss procedures for wireless telecommunications applications is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the school board conference room.
