Service Credit Union Ready to Help Those Hurt by Sequestration

Financial institution's members who are facing furloughs can contact Portsmouth company for assistance.

Standing by their members during the government sequestration, Service Credit Union will provide the following exclusive assistance for those impacted by furloughs.

New Hampshire’s largest credit union will offer a special 0% APR Sequestration Loan up to $6,000 with repayment over 18 months with no payments for the first 90 days for members with existing direct deposit.

For those without direct deposit or nonmembers who wish to join, they can start direct deposit and take advantage of a special 4.9% APR Sequestration Loan. The loan would be up to $6,000 with repayment over 18 months and no payments for 90 days.

For those members who have been furloughed, they can withdraw from a current certificate of deposit without any penalties. In addition, if they have a current loan with Service Credit Union, they can defer payments for 90 days.

Service Credit Union also provides free financial education assistance to any of their members. Anyone experiencing financial challenges whether it’s from the furlough or other issues, can call a financial counselor at 1.888.456.2227.

Other products and services are available to Service Credit Union members including early pay day, moderate income earners program, ATM rebates and several other programs to help members save money.
