Shaolin Warriors Bring Kung Fu to Music Hall

Group to bring martial arts and acrobatic show to Music Hall on Sunday, Nov. 18.

Get ready for a dazzling display of martial arts, physical prowess, and acrobatic theatricality when Shaolin Warriors return to The Music Hall on Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, this amazing troupe of 22 Buddhist monks ranging from 9 years old to masters of the craft have been thrilling audiences nationwide on their current tour.  Said the Honolulu-Star Advertiser after their show in late September, “It’s not often Buddhist monks inspire the thrills you get from a good old-fashioned martial arts flick, but when it’s the Shaolin Warriors, the thrill is not only visual, but live.”

Called “Voices of the Masters,” the production follows the journey of a young warrior apprentice as he is guided by the older monks through his lessons, from seemingly-impossible acrobatic positions to shadow-sparring and from martial arts to feats of weaponry.

According to Patricia Lynch, The Music Hall’s Executive Director and Lead Curator, “These monks are admired across the globe and celebrated in their own country for their deadly martial arts prowess. Imagine a video game come to life – with mysterious warriors live on our stage with no special effects involved. I guarantee that audiences will be astounded with their remarkable skill, breathtaking movements, and incredible showmanship. Trained in the Shaolin school, the troupe features monks performing feats live on stage that you thought only possible in the movies. Don’t miss this show!”
