Snow Removal Parking Ban Issued for Sunday Night

The ban will begin at 8 p.m. and continue into early Monday.

TIME of Notice: 3:15 P.M.

There is currently enough snow in the Central Business District in the Downtown area of Portsmouth to require snow removal operations. The Public Works Director has declared a Parking Ban for the following streets to allow snow removal operations Sunday February 9, 2014

AREA #1 - BEGINNING AT 8:00 PM (Sunday-February 9, 2014) 

State Street - (Cabot to Middle), Middle Street - (Islington to Austin), Hanover Street -(Rock to Maplewood).

AREA #2 - BEGINNING AT 9:00 PM (Sunday- February 9, 2014) 

Court Street - (Middle to Pleasant), Chestnut Street - (Court to State), Fleet Street - (Court to State), Court Place, Church Street - (Court to State), Bridge Street, Deer Street - (Bridge to Maplewood).

AREA #3 - BEGINNING AT 10:00 PM (Sunday-February 9, 2014)

State Street - (Middle to Marcy), Porter Street, Fleet Street - (Court to Congress), Church Street-(State to Congress), Pleasant Street - (Junkins to Congress), Penhallow Street-(State to Daniel), Custom House Court, Sheafe Street, Chapel Street - (State to Daniel), Washington Street -(Court to State).

AREA #4 - BEGINNING AT 12:00 AM Midnight (Monday-February 10, 2014)

Daniel Street, Congress Street, Bow Street, Chapel Street-(Daniel to Bow), Penhallow Street -(Daniel to Bow), Market Street -(Congress to Russell), Ladd Street, High Street -(Congress to Ladd), High Street -(Hanover to Deer), Fleet Street - (Congress to Hanover), Maplewood Avenue - (Congress to Deer), Islington Street - (Middle to Brewster), Hanover Street - (Maplewood to Market), Deer Street -(Market to Maplewood), Russell Street.

City residents may park in the High-Hanover Parking Facility for $3 during snow removal operations with proof of residency. Residents present a valid driver’s license or vehicle registration with a Portsmouth address to the booth attendant on exiting the parking garage.
