Snow Storm Causes Slick Driving Downtown

Portsmouth firefighters responded to some accidents this morning.

Just as the National Weather Service predicted, the Portsmouth area received 2 to 4 inches of snow this morning that created some hazardous driving conditions on Interstate 95 and downtown.

Portsmouth firefighters responded to a serious car accident on Elwyn Road near the Urban Forestry Center and another accident with injury was reported on Portsmouth Avenue in Greenland. Downtown, Portsmouth Police were also seeing some cars that went off the road, while city Public Works Department crews were busy clearing streets and municipal parking lots with snow plows.

What follows is a video showing what the storm looks like in Market Square.
